The food pantry at Mother of Christ has been in operation since the parish was moved to its present location. In the beginning, the Archdiocese provided a social worker to help with the organization. Willa and James Carlock were the managers for several years. It is open on Saturday mornings from 10:00 am-11:30 am. There has never been a fee and several parishioners have staffed it through the years. Most of the items are donated by the parishioners at St. Mary in Hyde Park, St. Bernard in Spring Grove Village, St. Gertrude, St. Xavier High School, and our own parishioners.
Claver Jesuit Ministry aims at developing a pastoral presence in the Winton Hills and Spring Grove Village neighborhoods of Cincinnati. It operates out of three facilities: St. Bernard Catholic Church in Spring Grove Village, Mother of Christ Catholic Church in Winton Hills, and the Claver Jesuit Ministry Center also in Winton Hills. Liturgical and sacramental ministry is provided by Fr. Bob Thesing, SJ.
Jesus said, “Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these.”

When we have our Christmas Toy distribution, we would again like to have a blanket or a pair of socks to give the adult who comes for the pick-up. These would need to be new items and you can begin bringing them in on You might run across a sale in the next week or two! The toy distribution has also reached our quota, which is 100 children.
